Mountain

As it stands, overpowering
It's the climb that we dread
All hope is lost
Aspirations are dead

Like a blind man leading a flock
We're led through the unknown
As we push on through a gordian knot
Fruitless ventures are shown

This mighty precipice
Wages wars with my mind
Has it conquered me in my head?
The strength i cannot find

The sheer determination
That must be wrought by me
From the depths of my soul
I'll rise up, this man will not be weak

It finally comes to an end
The sweat shed, the blood bled

For the mountain that did not give way
Determination has prevailed

As i fall deeper within doubts
I come to realize more and more
This mountain that is testing me
Is a towering metaphor

The symbolic nature of this climb
Is here fall all to see
If i overcome the barriers in my mind
My thoughts can finally be free

I cannot deny i've had the fear
Of death and eternity
But dying with courage
Is second to victory
