Text for song:
As the sun rose above the white cliffs of Cape Trafalgar
The opposing fleet was East by South around 10 miles
The morning sung with British cheers, now their prey would be brought to battle
A gentle wind blowing West Nor' West fills every sail
Out numbered
Out gunned
Out manned
But the allies are ill prepared
By dusk this all will be over
By dusk this all will be done
Nelson and Collingwood lead the two columns of ships forth
They make all haste to close and engage with the allied fleet
Upon the Victory a signal from Nelson is raised
ENGLAND EXPECTS THAT EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY
Out Numbered
Out gunned
Out Manned
But the allies are ill prepared
The two columns are nearing
Soon they will breach the line
At noon the allies
Opened fire
On the British warships
Bearing down on them
The British hold their fire
As the allies waste shots
Aiming too high
And too long
Collingwood closes first
Drawing alongside
A French warship
And clearing off its decks
The first volley begins
The carnage and the horror
The allied line is breached
The true battle has begun
Nelson's ship strikes the center
Of the allied line
Unleashing fury
On the Trinidad
More British attack
The air is full smoke
From the shore the Spanish
Can hear the din of war
In the horror of battle
The casualties are climbing
Shots rip through flesh
Blood slicks the decks
From Redoubtable's mast
A shot is fired
At the quarter deck
And Lord Nelson falls
Partial firing continued until the late afternoon
By then of 33 17 ships had their colours struck
The British fleet of just 27 had won the day
Though Nelson was among the dead and a nation plunged into mourning
Out numbered
Out gunned
Out manned
But the allies were ill prepared
In just 5 hours it was over
And there were many thousands dead
