the long grass sways

The warmth of friends

Chases away winters wolves

Unannounced the flames, hoards


My family gone

As if they were never there

Never has the moon lit such grief

Or sang without a care


Flames lick the heavens

Taking away all that’s mine

And darkness now a gateway
