Crafting Ruin

Once regarded

In golden halls

Now the clouds cast

My lengthening shadow

And nights’ voices find me


While they lived a thousand lifetimes

I died a thousand deaths

They felt summer smile

I was marked by winter’s breath


In the ruins of man and mortality

I am barely held together

With threads of promise

Hope never took seed here


And these arms that once held promise

Now craft ruin

And even with a hollow crown, my head is heavy

Spineless and addicted

I loathe this flesh

There is nothing here now


Wretched and beaten

Time has eaten

Away any trace of life


See through

Faded

Tired

And jaded
