Shakespears Sister is an alternative pop-rock musical duo from the United Kingdom, created in 1988 by singer-songwriter Siobhan Maire Fahey, a former member of the Bananarama band. American musician Marcella Detroit in 1989 joined the project.
The band released two albums and around 40 songs, including the 1992 hit Stay, which for eight consecutive weeks reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. Detroit left the band in 1993, leaving Feya as the only member. In 1996, Feilly decided to perform under her own name and the project was completed.
However, in 2009, Feilly revived the Shakespears Sister musical project.
In 2019, Faye and Detroit reunited and released the single All the Queen's Horses and the Ride Again EP.
