Caroline Elizabeth Polachek is an American singer and songwriter. In her youth, she became a co-founder of the Chairlift indie pop group while studying at university. The Brooklyn music scene was discovered by duo in the late 2000s with the "Bruises" intriguing hit.
During her time in the band, she worked on solo projects under the aliases Ramona Lisa and CEP, and after Chairlift disbanded in 2017, she began a career under her own name.
Her "Pang" debut studio album , in an avant-pop style, in particular the single “So Hot You're Hurting My Feeling”, received high praise from critics in 2019.
In 2023, Polachek released the "Desire, I Want to Turn Into You" studio album , which also received positive reviews from critics.
She has produced extensively with other artists, collaborating with Christine and the Queens, Fischerspooner, Blood Orange, Sbtrkt, Charli XCX, Grimes and the PC Music british band, as well as writing material for Beyoncé ( "No Angel" ) and Travis Scott.
