The Rolling Stones (in some sense - like “wanderers” or “tramps”) are a British rock band that formed in 1962 and for many years competed in popularity with The Beatles.
The Rolling Stones, who became an important part of the British Invasion, are considered one of the most influential and successful bands in rock history. This band, managed by Andrew Loog Oldham, envisioned as a "rebellious" alternative to The Beatles, were touted as "the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world" on their American tour in 1969 and (according to Allmusic) managed to maintain that status to this day.
The worldwide circulation of The Rolling Stones' albums exceeded 250 million, 200 million of which were sold only in United States!
According to these indicators, the group is one of the most successful in history.
The Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and were ranked fourth on Rolling Stone's 50 Greatest Artists of All Time list in 2004.
